ImbaR

When you see life as a competition, you run the risk of losing.

Uneven relationships,
a tenet of my life.
Though perhaps a little limiting,
a safeguard toward strife.

Forever I had tipped the scales
to favour but myself,
so that should a sudden end occur
then there would be no drought.

I make sure that the other one
needs me more than I
need their company or love;
T’is them who must need mine.

But I had gotten tired
of the limits that I set
so I chose to show a little love;
to take a chance and bet.

I thought that it could be a chance
to seek what I had longed;
to open up and show myself,
How could that go wrong?
