Little Things, Giant Things

Size is subjective, so is pain.

This cut is small;
I am well aware,
as many have told me.
It is not the size
of the cut
that frightens me,
it is that this cut
will not stop bleeding.

This anthill
which I find myself
at the base of
is a peak of trepidation,
an insurmountable obstacle,
an impasse.
And it frustrates people,
and it frustrates me,
that I cannot get over it.
